After more than three years as a student assistant at the University of Copenhagen, working on various procurement-related projects, Sven Mikulic has successfully graduated from Copenhagen Business School.

Sven joined the University of Copenhagen in 2021 as Associate Professor Marta Andhov’s student assistant. Over the years, he contributed to projects like the Carlsberg-funded PurpLE, the Horizon-funded COCOREADO, and the SAPIENS Network, as well as to the Bestek Podcast. His contributions included conducting research and supporting communication and dissemination activities for these projects.

Sven’s growing interest in procurement led him to write his thesis on public organizations’ capacities for sustainable procurement. If you’re interested in reading his thesis, you can reach out to him on LinkedIn to request a copy.

Sven has now moved on to a Blue Book Traineeship at the European Commission’s DG for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship, and SMEs. In his new role, he has joined the Unit for Public Procurement and the Team for Strategic Public Procurement. This position gives him the opportunity to work on the evaluation and revision of EU Public Procurement Directives and apply his expertise at the policy level.

We thank Sven for his hard work and dedication to our projects over the years and wish him the best in his new role.

Associate Professor Marta Andhov shared these words:

“Sven has been a fantastic student assistant, contributing to PURPLE, SAPIENS, and Bestek. He supported many initiatives and made a big difference behind the scenes. I’m proud of his achievements and wish him all the best in his future work. I hope he inspires others to explore procurement with the same enthusiasm he has.”

Best of luck, Sven, and thank you for your contributions!
